Program Description of Past Activities
Musical Program in the occasion of greatest festival of Nepali women Haritalika Teej.
On the occasion of Haritalika Teej, a program was organized in Chili Restaurant Jackson Heights, NY on 18 September 2015. More than 200 Nepalese Women and Men attended the program. The culture of “Daar Khuwaune” was celebrated with various food. Attendees were happy to celebrate festival in such great extent and preserve the culture and tradition.
A program to receive and provide the blessing and “Tika” in the occasion of Dashain.
On the occasion of Dashain those who don’t have their family and relatives with them come together to receive ‘’TIKA”, “JAMARA” and blessings on October 27, 2015 at Baltimore Everest Restaurant at the program organized by Baglung Welfare Society. More than 300 people attended the program and shared their experiences and happiness. Everyone looked happy to be able to celebrate the greatest Nepali festival here in the United States of America, a country very far from home.
Deusi Bhailo program in the occasion of Dipawali.
Deusi Bhailo program was organized at Chautari Restaurant, NY on 11th Nov 2015 on the occasion of Dipawali. More than 250 people attended with the program with ethnic uniforms reflecting different Nepali traditions and cultures. Everyone looked happy to be able to celebrate the Nepali great festival of light away from home. This program served as a tool to bring people together and increase harmony among each other.
Relief program to help people affected by the devastating earthquake.
As our effort to help people affected by the devastating earthquake, we donated $ 15000.00 to District Administration Office, Baglung. The other promised amount, as authorized by our committee members, is in process.
Relief program to help Mr. Prakash Shrestha
Secretary of Baglung Welfare Society Mr. Prakash Shrestha living in Boston, MA underwent surgeries due to an accident. As our effort to support him until he can get back to work, we conducted a fund raising campaign among the people originally from Baglung Nepal and living in the United Sates.
Relief program to help Mr. Badri KC
Mr. Badri KC, a member of our organization, who lived and worked in the United States was unable to manage travelling fund to visit his families back home. Our organization helped him financially to plan the trip and visit his family.
Relief program for the disaster caused by fire in Baglung district of Nepal
Provided economic relief to 14 families who lost their entire house by fire in Dhulubaskot VDC ward no. 9
